The Hedemora or Hedemorahona, is a rare chicken breed that is over 500 years old. They where created in the forest area of Dalarana County of Sweden, close to Hedemora. It is say of them to be the most cold hardy chicken in the world.

  • Hardiness: Hedemora chickens are adapted to the harsh climate of their native region and can withstand both cold and hot weather.

 

  • Behavior: Quick on their feet, the Hedemora may stand a better chance at escaping predators, then other breeds. They are also very good forager in all seasons inculing wither. They are not aggressive and love to be petted and hugged
