Quick facts about the Blue Wheaten Ameraucana
Frequently miss-called as Americana, the Ameraucana is a breed that will make you laugh with their funny face nearly hidden by muffs and their friendly/excited personality. They are a talking bird (through not in a excessive way) that likes to make its presence clear. They do well in mixed flocks, but are known to be explorers and active foragers.
They were developed in America in the 1970s from the Araucana breed. Those good looking bearded bird are a great addition to your backyard.

- Eggs: The Ameraucana will lay around 160-210 medium sized eggs per year. They are very good layer.
These blue egg layers will start laying around 6 or 7 month old, it’s a bit later then some other breeds but its worth it!
